Super WHY is "Calling All Readers" at John P. Parker

One-week Reading Camp for Kindergarten Students

For a third year, CET Learning Services staff members are working with Kindergarten teachers and students at John P. Parker Elementary School in Madisonville to implement the week-long Super WHY Reading Camp.

Over the course of the week, students will watch an episode of the PBS Kids show, play games, make arts an crafts, and do other hands-on activities to build fundamental literacy skills and to begin what is hopefully a lifelong love for reading. The program is a part of CET's ongoing commitment to the American Graduate Initiative, a national effort to address the large number of students who fail to graduate high school.
